January

Andy turned 16 this year! Now we have another chauffer in the family!

He’s already read this more than once!

We gave the boys a 6-day trip to Disneyland for Christmas last year! It was UNBELIEVABLY fun!!! Our friend, Mark, joined us for a few days.

Zack ranked up to cadet airman first class in Civil Air Patrol. We were very proud!

We attended Homeschool Day at the Capitol in Olympia.

Frank & Amy brought home our pig, Chester. We are now enjoying the bacon very much!

Zack turned 18! Now we have THREE adults in the house! And he got his license!!!

May

We took a family vacation to Cannon Beach. We love staying at Ecola Creek Lodge!

I planted a second garden where the pool used to be. The soil was lovely after Dad tilled it and everything grew like weeds! (including the weeds…) LOL

We adopted a new puppy this year, Max. What were we thinking??? I think we just fell in love with his cute little face!

Will was confirmed this month. What a joy to have all three boys growing in the Lord!

Mountain Man Retreat was another huge hit with the guys!

July

Bible Camp this year was amazing! Our speaker, Tony Karlik, was incredible! The Lord worked powerfully through him this year! We met new friends and were reunited with old friends, too!

Our cat waited until we got home from camp to have her three tiny little babies! So sweet!

This year we got to be home for the 4th and celebrating Charlie and Ada’s birthdays!

Creation 2011 was, as usual, AWESOME! This year was a change because we all worked as staff this year…

August

Great Escape this year was at Fort Stevens State Park. It was four days of fun-filled activities!

Unfortunately, Great Escape had a not-so-great ending… William ran into a pole and broke his nose! : o(

Apparently we are champion blueberry pickers! We went picking with a friend and her baby and picked 50 pounds of blueberries in just a couple of hours!

Before heading back to school, the youth group took some hikes up around Mt. St. Helens. We discovered some old logging equipment that survived the blast!

September

Over Labor Day weekend, we did some woodcutting and camping up at Sore Acres with the Sorensons and McMurrys. Camping is even more fun with friends!

Grandma Ide treated the whole family to a week in Depot Bay at a gorgeous house at Bella Beach! Spending a week with family is always a joy!

Don and Jan Sorenson hosted a BBQ class for Pastor Appreciation month for both us and the Paulsons. I have never made that much food for one meal before! What a delicious gift!

Zack and Andy both entered college this fall at the local community college! Wait, who told them they could grow up so much??? They are doing really well in their classes (no surprise there) and are totally looking forward to Christmas break. I think they are starting to appreciate me more. ;o)  Now it’s just me and Will…

Living with a Lego fan meant we had to finally make the trip north to Brick Con! Now that was an impressive collection of serious Lego fans!!!

Every fall we get together with our friends, the Cummings, and press cider. It is not only loads of fun but very yummy, too!

We decided we had gone long enough without a truck… So we brought this baby home! Yup, we were meant to own a truck!!!

For the first time ever we were able to attend the Clark’s annual Halloween party! And I am so glad we did!!!

This year’s Harvest Party wasn’t as big as in the past but was just as much fun! The new games, cake walk and balloon animals were a huge success!

November

William entered an on-line black light Lego photography contest and won third prize AND honorable mention! Way to go, Will!!!

This was a big year of firsts for us! For the first time since coming back to the NW, Chris and I were able to attend the annual Pumpkin Bash at Sore Acres. Lots of guns and pumpkin guts!!!

Chris and I took the youth group to Winter Jam in Portland. Thanks to Zack, Andy and Hobo (aka Elijah), we got amazing seats!!!

So that’s about it. Hope you all had as blessed a year in 2011 as we did! We pray that in 2012 we, and you, will grow closer to our Lord!
